What book should my child start with?
We do not label our books at a level. We did this on purpose because we didn't want any child to feel insecure or shamed because they were reading at a particular level.
Instead, they are a series of books that progress in difficulty.
Book 1 has one sentence per page with easily decodable words. As the series progresses, so do the sentences and vocabulary.
When readers get to book 5, there isn’t a picture on every page and there’s more text for building fluency.
We recommend starting with book 1 and progress to book 5. This gives your reader the opportunity to build confidence and momentum while reading, which strengthens their fluency skills.
